The highlight of the first day of the ZAIN Festival was the Opening at the Fashion Mansion. Bring the party and the music!
CASA DE MODA/GEORGE BARITIU STREET/CLUJ NAPOCA
The Opening was in fact a large presentation with the latest creations of the most famous Romanian designers from all artistic fields, fashion, sculpture, filming, graphic design and illustration, product design and as a highlight the Rooftop Party with the view over the city.
One of the highlights of that evening was to be able to photoshoot with one of top labels in term of fashion when it comes to bags, INDEE. Here we presented the new bag from the A/W collection. The bag is made from leather and since the design is so versatile it can be used as a statement piece either if you wear it as a handbag or as a shoulder piece. The extra pocket added makes the bag to become part your wardrobe no matter what you wear. Very cool!
One of the most famous object designers is the group UBIKUBI. We loved the work from Dragos Motica who is mainly known for the SLASH lamp. Here we found another lamp TAKE A BOW by the same designer.
In the same category we found chairs and benches that we loved, like this one which was carefully carved with with traditional patterns that you usually find now only in rural areas. The bench is hence called ROOTS AND WINGS made by SEZI (Octavian and Lucian Louis).
The headset made from wood cover that was on display last year came again this year with a more modern and edgier design. Made by Ioana Ciurea and Gopo Bogdan.
Wool was also on display as a garment which can be used to decorate your wall, instead of a picture or poster, I’ve seen it as an example in one of the UBIKUBI’s catalogues, and also can be used as a cool scarf of the autumn/winter period.
My boyfriend Tavi liked the wallet from the UPSIDE DOWN studio, he even added a picture of their work that was on display here at ZAIN.
I liked the accessories that were on display like the ones from VIKA TONU DESIGNS the collection “Perspectives The Geometry of Life” and the collection “Liquid Skies” from the designer group “Panaitescu Ioana and Popa Gabriel”.
Bianca Georgescu’s collection UMAYYAD didn’t go unnoticed, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who took a picture of the lovely collection which I’ve understood were an inspiration from the Islamic art made with stretch leather and engraved arabesques.
Last but not least, as I’ve mentioned them earlier, were the bags from INDEE (Diana Magda) who integrated the POMPOM in a classy way into her new A/W collection.
Now that we’re done, let’s hit the party!
