For my birthday present I was surprised with a holiday to Brasov, which is a big location in the mountains, but keeps a lot of the town flair if you don’t want to forget your urban roots.Read about my adventures below!

This is really a gorgeous part of Transylvania, full of little hidden treasures like this pastel cafe and brasserie called “LUTHER” where you can grab a bite to eat at any time of day from breakfast ’till noon to croissant 24/7. I fell in love with this location, because of the croissants (of course) and because of the very nice pink wall full with flower patterns. It feels like your own large garden full of seasonal flowers like peonies or roses…
We arrived there when the last glimpses of summer were still present, so you can imagine my delight when we figured out we can go out into T-shirts around noon ’till 6 in the evening. During that weekend “The Pink Day” was celebrated in the heart of Brasov so music played non stop in the Central Square during the day till late at night. It was absolutely heaven and such a lush surprise for the lead up to my birthday because it fell like a real party was held in which I was dancing for joy with my colorful balloons in my hands.
We spent the weekend running through the city, exploring the remains of the fortress (two actually), while eating yummy burgers at the “Hockey Pub” near our hotel.
There is one thing that brought a special smile on my face which is that my boyfriend never went on a vertical elevator and neither did I. So it was truely a new experience for the both of us. For those who followed me on Snapchat or Instastories saw what an amazing view over the city we had.
We ended our trip while climbing to the very top of Brasov, to have a better view over the city. This was the first time I saw the letters from close and somehow thought they looked amazing. I hope we can get something like this in Cluj as well.
Holidays are about the memories you keep with good company. In the spirit of good fun, you want to try anything and everything and I hope I can have more impulsive city breaks like this next year as well.
